Bunker Labs Philadelphia receives Lincoln Financial Foundation Grant

Philadelphia, PA, January 22, 2019 – Bunker Labs Philadelphia has received a $10,000 grant from the Lincoln Financial Foundation to support the Bunker Labs PHL CEOcircle program.  CEOcircle focuses specifically on later-stage ventures, whose founders need different resources and guidance than the early stage entrepreneurs who make up the majority of Bunker Labs Launch Lab Online programming.

CEOcircle is comprised of a group of 15-20 veteran entrepreneurs whose businesses have achieved certain thresholds in organic revenue, investment or job creation.  During the year-long cohort, they engage in monthly mastermind sessions where they will have the opportunity to learn from each other and from a program designed to help them work on the key strategic moves that will grow their business.

“We have consistently seen the need for, and interest in this program because, even though there are many entrepreneurship programs in the region, most are focused around idea stage or early stage companies,” said Adam Nelson, Northeast Experience Director for Bunker Labs.  “CEOcircle meets the needs of the numerous veteran-owned post-revenue companies who still need a space to feel supported and ask high-level questions to fellow CEOs.  We are extremely grateful to the Lincoln Financial Foundation for providing this generous grant to be able to continue the program.  Now in our second year, our Philadelphia chapter will benefit from lessons learned and resources we have amassed over the past year.

Lincoln Financial Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Lincoln Financial Group, believes in empowering people to live greater lives, which advances culture and empowers greater positive change. Its grant is part of Lincoln Financial’s annual $10 million investment in its local communities’ youth education, economic and workforce development, human well-being and arts programs.

CEOcircle participants were most interested in a place where they could grow as a business leader.  As such, Bunker Labs PHL modified the structure of CEOcircle to focus the program around strategic leadership, guiding CEOs in the program to step out of the day-to-day operations of their business and make the big decisions they need to grow.  At the same time, if and when they do need specific business supports, CEOcircle members have a trusted circle in the form of their cohort, where they can turn for that assistance.  Bunker Labs PHL has structured the second cohort of CEOcircle with more peer engagement and accountability, to further strengthen meaningful engagement and outcomes among participants.
