Philadelphia, February 3, 2016 – PACT, the Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technologies, today announced it is now accepting applications for the Phorum 2016 Demo Pit. This popular competition allows conference attendees to experience, first-hand, some of the most innovative technologies under development in the Greater Philadelphia region and watch them vie for Phorum Best in Show title, won last year by Tesorio.
Hosted by PACT and sponsored by Fairmount Partners and LiquidHub, Phorum 2016: Systems of Insight, will feature presentations and panel discussions by industry analysts, technology visionaries, and business executives sharing how Systems of Insight allow enterprises to collect data (market, customer, and business) and convert that data into usable and actionable information.
“We were overwhelmed by the amount of applications we received for last year’s Demo Pit competition,” said Allen Born, Director at Fairmount Partners and the Advisory Board Chairman of Phorum 2016. “Selecting ten companies that stand out in the region is an extremely challenging task so I know the judges will have their work cut out for them choosing this year’s best in show.”
The Phorum 2016 advisory committee added a new twist to the Demo Pit competition this year. Participants will now appear on stage in one of two sessions and will have an opportunity to pitch their companies to a panel of judges and the audience. Nate Lentz, Managing Partner of Osage Partners will serve as the lead judge for the Demo Pit sessions and competition.
If you are a startup in the Greater Philadelphia region whose product or solution is enabling companies to do more with their data, please complete the application found on the Phorum website. Startups with established products and/or services in the following areas are encouraged to apply; analytics (machine learning, natural language processing and predictive analytics), information management (big data) and cloud technologies. The deadline to apply is March 1, 2016.
