PACT Celebrates 25th Annual Enterprise Awards Honoring Technology and Healthcare Innovation in the Philadelphia Region

Philadelphia, PA., May 9, 2018 PACT, the Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technologies, celebrated the 25th Annual Enterprise awards tonight by recognizing 29 exceptional organizations and individuals that operate within the region’s healthcare and technology industries.  The longest-running awards program of its kind, the Enterprise Awards honors 11 investors, entrepreneurs and businesses that transform healthcare, technology and related fields annually for the past quarter century.

The Enterprise Awards ranks as the most prestigious business honors for technology and healthcare companies, leaders and entrepreneurs in the Philadelphia region.  Celebrating its silver anniversary at The Kimmel Center, PACT has had the fortune to recognize a wide range of organizations and leaders through the years.  To view a list of winners from the previous years, click here.

“Over the past twenty-five years, we have showcased some of the most forward-thinking companies and individuals that our region has to offer and this year is no different,” said Dianne Strunk, Vice President, PACT.  “Each of the twenty-seven finalists have broken immense barriers within their specific fields, and, on behalf of everyone at PACT, I congratulate all of the 2018 Enterprise Award honorees and winners for their tireless work.”

After reviewing several hundred award submissions, the 2018 Enterprise Awards winners from the nine competitive categories:

 

In addition to the competitive award categories, PACT recognized Michael DiPiano, Managing General Partner and Co-founder of NewSpring, with the Legend Award for his role throughout his career in forwarding technology and sciences in the region through leadership and exemplary work.  In his role, Mr. DiPiano is a part of the firm’s dedicated growth equity fund and serves as a member of the investment committee for all NewSpring funds. Before co-founding NewSpring in 2001, Mr. DiPiano was a serial entrepreneur and investor for companies in the business services, healthcare and information technology industries.

PACT also recognized Penn Medicine as the Digital Innovation award honoree for the launch of Penn Life Gained, their bariatric surgery app. While most commercially available health apps are primarily directed at patients, Penn Life Gained, which launched in October of 2017, connects both patients and physicians to generate more efficient care.
